Monkey Bar Bangalore by Olive Group of Restaurents
Sabina Singh, Design Director of the Olive Group of Restaurants, collaborates with acclaimed interior designer Raseel Gujral Ansal of Casa Pop to breathe new life into Monkey Bar. The transformation captures the playful spirit of the brand through vibrant colors and a lively bar scene.
The design moves away from the darker, evening-oriented vibe of the past, embracing a bright, sunlit palette of oranges, yellows, sage greens, pigeon blue, and white. Towering windows flood the space with natural light, making it an inviting all-day destination.
Upon entering, guests are greeted by quirky neon signs and a tropical-themed wallscape adorned with hand-painted monkey motifs. The space is thoughtfully arranged, featuring a stylish coffee station, cozy indoor and outdoor dining areas, and a prominently positioned bar. This setup ensures an inventive drinking experience while maintaining a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Discreetly embedded QR codes within the wallscape offer insights into the collaborative design journey of these iconic brands, while the al fresco area provides a view of the bustling Church Street below.
Sabina Singh describes the design as an "Urban Tropical Dreamscape," marking the beginning of a series of immersive transformations. The reinvented Monkey Bar is a contemporary haven with lush terrace seating, a striking red stone bar accent, and a vibrant color palette that embraces natural light. This fresh approach revives a beloved space, moving away from traditional aesthetics.
The collaboration between Monkey Bar and Casa Pop celebrates playfulness and creativity, epitomized by the iconic monkey motif. The reimagined interior is a testament to innovation, humor, and teamwork, inviting guests on a sensory journey where design, atmosphere, and culinary excellence come together to create lasting memories.
