Nilaya by UnBox.Design
The fusion of traditional Indian craftsmanship and modern design is a trend that has taken the design world by storm.
The reconfiguration of the entrance to create a sunlit foyer was a challenging aspect of the project as this serves as a vital transition zone, increasing the privacy of the bedrooms along a central corridor, while the monochromatic foyer features a glass block wall that allows soft light to fall on a Madhubani artwork and a charcoal black turned-wood console.
The living room is designed with an earthy and natural colour palette, features brown leather seats, cream sofas, wooden accent chairs and circular centre tables all tied together by a jute rug. On the other hand, the white Thasos marble dining table with wooden legs is complemented by cream-upholstered wooden seats and a patterned rug with Indian motifs.
Bedrooms in this house are reflection of the personalities of the inhabitants. The pastel bedroom has a soft pink palette fused with white cupboards and the warmth of oak furniture. The second daughter's bedroom features forest greens with more free-up floor space for a yoga-loving painter. The master bedroom is an Indian oasis featuring a four-poster wooden bed as the centrepiece.
The harmoniously coexisting traditional craftsmanship and modern design create bespoke spaces expressing the inhabitant's innermost soul. Meticulous design and customization culminate in this home that boasts visual appeal and functionality.
