Masti's Elegant Revival: A Seamless Blend of Old and New at The Dubai Edition

Masti Dubai 2.0 by Studio Lotus

Masti's relocation from La Mer to The Dubai Edition Hotel exemplifies a thoughtful approach to reuse and repurposing. The redesign artfully blends familiar elements with fresh dynamics, preserving the original restaurant's hospitality charm while amplifying the drama and delight synonymous with the Masti experience.

Studio Lotus took advantage of the existing structure to introduce innovative elements, such as a kaleidoscopic chainmail entryway and a live kitchen inspired by the glowing embers of a traditional tandoor. The space is defined by clever spatial markers like a gin screen separating the kitchen from the bar and intimate seating on the balcony that offers sweeping city views.

Key features like custom furniture by Mangrove Collective, lighting by AKFD, and the iconic stained-glass 3D elephant evoke memories of the original restaurant while celebrating its evolution.

Rather than following design trends, Masti retains its unique identity by repurposing existing elements, demonstrating that luxury can be achieved with minimal new interventions. The result is a refined dining experience that challenges the notion that luxury spaces must be entirely new, highlighting Studio Lotus' dedication to thoughtful design and sustainable practices.
