Tall Storeys Collaborative has redefined what it means to design a creative workspace with the new headquarters of Look What You’ve Done (LWYD) Interactive in Bengaluru. Moving from a cramped office to a spacious, thoughtfully designed environment, LWYD's new home is a vibrant embodiment of the agency's offbeat spirit, tailored to accommodate its growing portfolio and energetic young team, all while adhering to a modest construction budget.
Rejecting the conventional corporate office template, the design incorporates suspended green planters that act as subtle dividers, creating mini “ecosystems” for different teams. This approach preserves the openness of the office while providing enough separation to minimize distractions.
Leadership and staff interaction is seamlessly encouraged through the layout, with meeting rooms placed as transitional spaces between executive offices and general work areas. This design choice promotes a collaborative environment, where leadership is integrated into the creative flow rather than isolated.
Aesthetically, the office steers clear of the cold, utilitarian vibe common in many workplaces. Instead, it embraces a warm, residential feel, making the space welcoming and comfortable. Workstations are designed to be personal and adaptable, encouraging employees to tailor their spaces and deepen their connection to their work environment.
Material choices and aesthetics play a vital role in the design. A blend of natural wood, modern metals, and vibrant colors establishes a lively yet professional atmosphere. Fluted glass screens are strategically placed to delineate spaces without creating visual barriers, maintaining the open feel while adding a dynamic, playful element to the reception area.
The design also incorporates extensive use of glass surfaces, which double as writable canvases for spontaneous brainstorming, sketches, and notes. This feature integrates creativity into the very fabric of the workspace, encouraging a culture of collaboration and idea-sharing.
